How Allergic Reactions Are Murdering Your Social Life

Allergies are the total social life killer. It’s different, although not less dangerous, if you have food allergy or drug allergy or even hereditary allergy, but if you have the sort of allergy that gives you brutal reaction to what you inhale, then that’s a social life killer.

Don’t get me wrong. Allergies, all forms, are serious and require the same care. But nothing can be as a social life killer than inhaled allergies. Drug and food allergic reactions you can prevent by just not taking or consuming them. But breathed in allergies, there are events that you don’t get a say on what the air around you carries.

What if your honey asks you for a picnic but you know you won’t be able to enjoy the beautiful surrounding because you for certain will wind up sneezing incessantly after inhaling the nearby flowers’ pollen.

How about avoiding riding in a convertible with pals on countryside streets because even a tiny speck of breathed in dust could set off your skin rash? For some, they can’t even enjoy giving or receiving flowers because that would just give them a bout of watery eyes and runny nose. The saddest part is, some can’t even have pets at home just because they are allergic to them.

And that’s how inhaled allergic reactions ruin your social life.

Those are merely “mild” symptoms a person with inhaled allergy can have. Instead of enjoying a romantic picnic afternoon or a fun road trip with pals, you get to miss them out in fear that you would only spoil the fun for everybody.

You can take antihistamines to combat allergic reactions, but take extra care though. Some, if not most, can make you drowsy. They may be far from perfect, but they are your best bet when confronted with a situation that triggers your allergic reaction. Because the only other thing that can cure your breathed in allergic reactions is to avoid having them in the first place.

Better arm yourself with antihistamines all the time. Choose the labels that are non-drowsy. It’s best to be prepared since you never know when will you require it. And of course, have a physician look into your allergies. There might be something else he or she may prescribe that will aid you.
