Causes Of Delayed Sleep Symptoms
Delayed sleep syndrome is a situation in which the major sleep episode is delayed by two or more hours of the desired bedtime. This results in posing difficulty to a person to wake up on scheduled time in morning. Every person has his/her own internal clock which is mostly described as biological clock. In this situation, it gets disturbed and cannot synchronize the regular sleep on proper standard times.
Although it is a sleep disorder, once the person manages to sleep, he or she gets sound and perfect sleep. The only difficulty they face is with synchronizing their sleep hours with standard sleeping hours.
The mismanagement inside one’s body relates to variations in standard patterns that cause turmoil or randomness in internal clock. This means the disorder in sleep is subject to internal anomalies. Sleep duration is similar to jet lag feeling but it persists for a long time.
This unusual phenomenon puts one in many cumbersome scenarios. People usually face problems in concentrating on their jobs in the early hours of the day They wake up late in the morning and the morning leads to principal social complications, and dependency on family members and colleagues increases.
They become extremely dependent on others to wake them up on time. Sleep disorder can result in other health and social impacts like insomnia, stress, bad temper and feeling disturbed once they go to bed.
With the rapid advancement in medical science, there are many effective techniques to cure this problem but the success of any method cannot be predicted. The most employed techniques are chronotherapy, bright light therapy, using sleep inducers like melatonin. These are mostly used for severe cases.
Mild cases are treated in a different way. Like they are not put to standard techniques rather are more directed towards some basic corrections in daily routine. They are asked to avoid naps, develop a wake-sleep and then stick to it even on weekends, avoiding caffeine or nicotine and alcohol at least 4-6 hours before they go to the bed. Sleep disorder needs careful consideration to be fixed.
